While 2020 has been a strange year, there’s still been some good things from the year that’s just gone past. Both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X released in November making them the hottest Christmas items of 2020 however, stocks for both new consoles are running low. This isn’t usual for the next generation of consoles since brand new releases are always difficult to find in stores for the first new months.
However, it’s not just the new next generation of consoles in low supply. PC gamers looking for a hardware upgrade have been suffering as well. There’s been several big releases in 2020 including new Intel and AMD CPU’s but the largest release has been the new RTX 3000 series graphics cards from Nvidia. The new graphics cards are more powerful than the previous 2000 series and, as a massive selling point, they’re considerably cheaper than the previous generation. Considering the price and power advantages, it’s easy to see why the newest graphics cards in in low supply.
Scalpers or those who purchase new items and resell them at a higher price are not uncommon when it comes to gaming hardware. The new 3000 series graphics cards have fallen victim to this and finding them has become even more difficult as a result.
